A closed shop and an unanswered message are not the same thing
Most small businesses don't lose a customer because their price was wrong. They lose them at eleven at night, to a message nobody saw until morning.
A shop that is closed has a sign on the door and hours on the window. A customer who arrives at night understands, and comes back. An unanswered message is different: the customer waited, got nothing, and by the morning they had already asked somebody else.
Why hiring your way out of it doesn't work
A person sleeps, takes holidays, and speaks one or two languages. For most small businesses, a night shift costs more than a quiet month makes. So the message sits there, and the sale goes to whoever answered first.
What we built instead
Semaji is a team of AI employees a business hires: a receptionist, a salesperson, someone on support, someone who takes bookings. Each is trained for one job and knows only that one business. They reply in seconds, in the customer's own language, at any hour, and they pass a customer between each other the way colleagues do.
When they genuinely don't know something, they ask the owner rather than guess, and they remember the answer. At the end of the day, the team manager writes the owner a short account of how it went.
